Twenty-five years after the publishing of my first book - "Cashless Society: A World Without Money" (1974) - the publisher asked if I would write a sequel. Considering the offer, realizing how society had come in its evolution into a digital economic world, the word "diginomics" came to mind. As I researched the existence of the word, I discovered the word did not exist. So, in 1998, I introduced the word for the first time online and, consequently, presented it to every English language dictionary I could find. In 2007, the Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary was the first to accept the word as a "new word in the English language." View more posts
